Efficient Floor Mat Handling with igus Line Gantry and Pneumatic End Effector
To automate the sorting and transport of floor mats, VICIM implemented an igus line gantry system with an integrated Y and Z axis. The Y-axis features a drylin® ZLW-20200 toothed belt axis, driven by a NEMA24 stepper motor with encoder and gear, offering precise motion with a feed of 144 mm/rev. The Z-axis utilizes a drylin® GRR-20120 cantilever axis, also driven by a NEMA24 stepper motor with encoder and brake, providing a feed rate of 72.26 mm/rev. A pneumatic end effector ensures secure gripping of the mats, allowing them to be transported over longer distances without dropping, highlighting the gantry's reliability in handling large items.
